What is NST?

Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST ) is an advanced form of Bowen and Spinal Therapy and sometimes referred to as soft tissue osteopathy. Essentially, it is a gentle fascial release therapy that is achieved through specific rhythmic movements, aimed at re-educating the body’s tissues to function correctly.

When tension exists in the body pain is always present in varying degrees. Alongside tension, imbalances occur which also affect organs and systems within the body. This often presents as tiredness and lethargy, ultimately impacting on the immune system.

People of all ages can benefit from NST as each treatment is tailored to the individual.

Each consultation lasts between 45 mins to 1 hour. During the first appointment a medical history is taken, including a discussion on diet, hydration, exercise and stress management, all of which are contributing factors to health.

The patient will be asked to undress to their underwear, as this does provide a clearer picture of muscular tension and enables the practitioner to work better with the body, but it is not essential.

The number of treatments a person needs is very individual. Most people achieve substantial relief after 2 or 3 sessions. Advice on posture, exercise and lifestyle is also offered .

Many people choose a maintenance programme which involves a regular treatment, anytime within a 3-monthly period, as a prevention to injury. Patients who choose this regular intervention remark on its positive effects.

Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT may be able to help with the following:

Stress

Anxiety

Fear

Exam nerves

Post Traumatic Stress

Pain management

Stage fright

Clear blocks in learning

What is EFT?

To understand EFT, first of all you have to accept that an external stimuli has a physical reaction in the body and within a nano second we create an emotional response or interpretation. So our physical body sends out signals like palpations or sickly feelings and we may interpret them as fear, especially if fear has become a learnt response through experience. In times of overwhelm and stress our fight and flight response can become somewhat skewed and our responses seemingly uncontrollable. Using methods like EFT (and TTT, breathwork and havening), we can learn to respond differently.

Commonly known as tapping, EFT is an intriguing and incredibly useful tool for anyone to use. There are many acupuncture points all over the body which ,when stimulated , can have quite remarkable effects. EFT points are on the face , chest and hands. Gentle rhythmic tapping moves are used to calm and clear the systems which may have been safely triggered whilst gently talking through specific issues.

EFT can be done silently or with words. There are many different elements to it which can be tailored to suit the needs of the individual, effective for both children and adults. Having an ability to clear negative emotions is a powerful piece of the good health jigsaw, as there is no separation between mind and body.

EFT is currently undergoing trials by NICE regulators.

Reflexology

Reflexology may be able to help with the following:

Circulation

Reduce stress

PMS

Tension

Sleep issues

Menopausal problems

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is both old and new. In ancient Egypt, China And Japan people worked on the feet to promote good health. Today many of the same techniques have been developed into a modern therapy.

Sara came across Reflexology in the mid’ 90s in India. It is a mode of treatment that is used extensively there for a variety of ailments and relaxation. It is a non intrusive complementary therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower legs, hands, face or ears correspond to different areas of the body. It is incredibly relaxing and promotes a wonderful overall sense of wellbeing.

So, with gentle pressure applied to the feet, a very subtle healing process can begin, promoted by a deep sense of relaxation. Unmanaged stress is probably the biggest factor behind most illnesses and imbalances within the body; the body’s defences quite simply break down.

The Treatment

The initial consultation will involve a brief client medical history at first. Footwear and socks are removed and whilst lying or sitting on a couch, the feet are gently cleansed with tea tree oil. Pure raw organic coconut oil mixed with lavender is then applied to the feet, and reflexology then begins.

Trauma Tapping Technique

Trauma Tapping Technique may be able to help common symptoms of stress and trauma:

Headaches

Irritable bowel

Insomnia

Night terrors

Irritability and aggression

Guilt shame and self blame

Depression and hoplessness

Physical aches and pains

What is Trauma Tapping Technique?

Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT) calms stress responses in your autonomic nervous system (ANS). This means at the very least after tapping you will feel calmer than before.

Utilising breathwork and havening techniques independently or alongside TTT regularly can create a calmness and a clarity that you may not have experienced in a very long time; reducing cortisol production which in turn lowers blood pressure, heart rate, acidity, inflammation - essentially taking the nervous system from a fight and flight response to a rest and digest phase where healing can begin. These techniques can be used purely during appointments but I think to achieve what each of us deserves, which is a calmer more peaceful, happier state, then using these methods routinely, every morning and night is simply put an emotional hygiene practice…

Be kind to yourself and then share it with others. X

Each appointment is conducted with respect and client confidentiality. In the initial consultation each individual will be made aware of my duty of care towards them. This involves informing their Doctor or the police if there is an indication that they may harm either themselves or another or commit a crime.

This is totally in keeping with health and safety regulations.
